Reflection on the blogging process
19 they say: " All good things come to an end". And so did the blogging.
A big shoutout to all my blog peeps. The whole blogging experience was really a great platform for me to grow and be technologically advanced.
The best memory for me about the blogging was when we had to write our introductions and because I am a Beauty Pageant Fanatic I saw it as a time to let everybody know it, for many people did not know me and did not know what I believed in. I have learned a lot of things, including that my own English vocabulary is not soooo great, but during this whole blogging my English Vacabulary grown a lot. The connection between the assignment and the real world was great, because as a teacher I have to work in the real world with real people and real problems. In my personal opinion this assignment plays a highly important role, because as a teacher I have to teach students to use social media correctly and in a positive way, so doing this whole blogging made me realise that students need teachers who are technologically advanced and bringing my values of unity, honesty, respect and hope into it, I think then students will have a lot of respect for the Education system in South Africa and the people who serve as rolemodels.
If I could have started at the beginning of this blogging process, I would definitely blogged more often, because I now realised it is fun, one learns a lot and you can just be honest with yourself.
I definitely cannot wait to start blogging about the upcoming beauty pageant MISS WORLD 2015 that everyone is looking forward to. Get ready for LIESL LAURIE will rock Sanya's stage on the 19th of December in CHINA!!!

Integrating social media into the classroom and how will I use it to be a better teacher.
Kurt Lewin once said: " Learning is more effective when it is an active rather than a passive process.
Hey everybody! Is it necessary to integrate social media in the classroom?
That's a question asked by many and today it is my time to answer. I believe that anyone can play with technology, but the future belongs to those who use it to create. it is therefore a MUST to integrate technology in the classroom, for not only is it the modern toys babies are growing up with, but it is also part of our technologically advanced lifestyle we are living in today. Using social media students learn better and stay focused, for scientists shown that students learn better if the like something and is comfortable with something.
And so people ask me how i will use FACEBOOK, TWITTER AND BLOGGING in class to be a better teacher. As the saying goes, "A child in sport is a child out of court." For me it is the same with social media in class. Technology has become a part of us and it is part of our daily lives. I feel that it should be used, for example blogging can be used to help learners portray their identities and what they believe in. It can be use to help learners with mathematics or science. For there are many blogs about these type of subjects.
Soooo have a nice evening and we will talk again!!!
How did teaching practise change my idea of myself being a "teacher"?
And soooooo teaching practice start and I had to stand in a class for the first time of my life. It was exciting, but at the same time frightening and scaring. not knowing the students and where they came from was quite disturbing and being at a whole new school and whole new setup was quite an irritation.
Hey everybody, I am Shane and teaching practice started.
Charlie Chaplin once said, and I quote:" A day without laughter is a day wasted". I completely agree with him. At the school I was I saw that students want to feel loved and cherished, and that's why I always smiled and laughed with them, not because I don't believe that there should be a distance between the teachers and the learners be, but because I believe in a good and healthy relationship between teachers and learners.
For me being in a class of 40 learners, teaching practice showed me that its hard to stay loyal and nice, because there are some learners in that class that does everything in their ability to bring you down and not listening to you. one also struggle so stay optimistic about everything, because sometimes the learners makes you feel that there are no positive thing in learning and teaching.
As I said, I am a strong believer and problem solver, but while I was doing my practicals I also find that it is not so easy to solve a problem, because parents should be involved in the situation as well as the principal, which make the whole situation a mess.
Teaching practice did not change of thinking or gave me a low esteem, it just showed me the reality of what is going on in our public South African schools and I believe with my values of unity, honesty, respect, hope and forgiveness I can make a difference!

How do I see myself as a teacher
Hey everyone!
I believe in the philosophy that victory belongs to those who believes and only those who believes the longest, therefore I believe that I am a leader, a strong believer and yes, I am the solution.
Words that can describe me as a teacher is being honest, loyal and trustworthy, for I believe that a teacher should have these abilities to win the students trust. I also see myself as the type of teacher who will give back to the community, for I know what it feels like to have no food or no fancy clothes to wear and I know that the only thing that kept you alive in all these difficulties is holding on to God and using the brain power God gave you.
I definitely see myself as the type of teacher who is passionate about the whole Education system and someone who believes that there will comes a time that South Africa can be one of the best countries concerns Education in the world. I am an optimist, and for me being a teacher means to believe not only in the students, but in their capabilities to achieve and to do good

Reasons for being a good teacher and the characteristics
In a community where many parents do not care about their children and where drug and alcohol abuse play a higly important role. In a community where many children do not go to school, because either they do not have any school uniform or their parents do not care about them. These are all things I had to face while I was growing up. I did not have much to eat and did not enjoy the priviledges my "friends" enjoyed, but one two things kept me going, our Father who is in heaven and my dream to become a teacher. Not just a teacher to teach, but a teacher who give back to his own community and a teacher who play his part in transforming his own community into a community that is associated with hope, dignity, unity, respect ad forgiveness. I want to be a cher, because I believe that I have a passion for children and seeing a child uses their potential give me a smile on my face and a twinkle in my eye.
- A teacher should be someone who leads with dignity and respect.
- Someone who believes in themselves and in the potential of the learners.
- A good teacher is someone with a passion for what his doing and who will never moan about something at work.
- A good teacher is also hardworking and he/ she never back down from any challenge.
- A good teacher is therefore also goal driven and enthusiastic about what he/ she believes in.

Beauty Pageant fanatic
One year ago on the beautifull England soil, Rolene Strauss
from South Africa was crowned Miss world 2014. Since then my life for beauty with a purpose grew and my love for a tiara even more stronger. Everything about Miss World intriques me, from the preliminaries, where the girls have to do some sport activities and beach fashion, but the interviews is my favourite.
Rolene is not just a leader and an inspiration to many, but she lives the values that every South African believes in, which is unity, honesty, respect and forgiveness. she capture every single memory she believe is worthwhile and believe in the philosophy that victory belongs to those who believe and only those who believe the longest.
